TAIZ, March. 1 (YPA) – Taiz province, Southwest Yemen witnesses accumulation of garbage and waste in streets and neighborhoods of the city, with an alarming environmental and health catastrophe that has doubled the suffering of citizens due to the ongoing war in the city.
Especially, some people have been burning the garbage and smoke and unpleasant odors that harass people near al-Saylah (Rainwater Bank).
“The places to burn waste are not the places where they are now,” the region’s residents said.
It is located outside the city, and in order to reach it, it needs to cross areas of military confrontation between the militants of the alliance, the Army and the people’s committees.
“The continuation of this situation foreshadows a health and environmental disaster and spread of various diseases that may affect children,” they said.
They added that the officials who have a duty to relieve the burdens of citizens don’t care about such problems and don’t cooperate with the people who constantly appeal to them.
It is worthy to note that all areas filled with waste are under the control of coalition-backed militants.
