SANAA, Feb. 24 (YPA) – Minister of transport in Saudi-backed government of the exiled Hadi has called for filing lawsuits against militias or the so-called “security belt forces” backed by the UAE occupation forces in the southern provinces of Yemen.
In a tweet on his Twitter account on Saturday, Saleh al-Jabwani, minister of transport in Hadi’s government, launched a sharp attack on the UAE forces and on those whom he described as “their militias and mercenaries.”
“Every military force in a country and does not follow that country is a militia”, al-Jabwani said.
He explained that any military action carried out by the militia lacks the legal cover, and the state or even any lawyer has the right to file suits before local and international courts against this militia leaders and members.
With a reference to the security belt and elite forces in southern Yemen, which are established and supported by the UAE, al-Jabwani said “These elements, when they receive their salaries, instructions and orders from another country, are treated as mercenaries.”
On more than one occasion last year, al-Jabwani indicated that “the security belt and elite forces” have contributed to the dire security situation in the southern provinces and the spread of al-Qaeda in those areas and provinces.
