Dozens of teachers rally in Hadramout demanding wage restructuring

HADRAMOUT, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Dozens of teachers in the city of Seiyun, the capital of the Hadramout Valley oil-producing districts, staged on Monday a protest rally against the coalition-affiliated Aden government.

In the rally, the teachers demanding that the government should take urgent measures to improve their financial and living conditions.

Participants held up signs expressing their dissatisfaction with the government’s continued disregard for their suffering, the economic decline, and the rising cost of living.

They affirmed that their current salaries were no longer sufficient to cover their families’ basic needs, at a time when the burdens of living were increasing daily.

The protesters stressed the importance of urgently addressing the worsening collapse in electricity services and ensuring fuel supplies were provided after the sudden outage, despite the significant drop in fuel prices in recent days.

They pointed out that the continuation of the current poor service and living conditions might threaten the collapse of the education and service systems in Hadramout Valley.
