Israeli blogger Ben Tzion visits Qatar

SANAA, Jan. 22 (YPA) – An Israeli blogger posted pictures of him in Qatar’s capital, Doha which caused a wave of anger on social media.

The Israeli blogger, Ben Tzion of Russian origin, posted pictures of him in the famous Souq Waqif in Doha, and another photograph in the Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab Mosque.

Ben Tzion also published a photograph of him putting the Qatari Shammag on his head.

The image of the Israeli blogger has caused widespread indignation by Qatari activists on Twitter, who expressed strong disapproval of any move towards “normalization” with Isreal.

Activists said that what is more displeasing, according to Ben Tzion, that he had performed Hebrew prayers “for love, peace and respect between Jews and Arabs”, inside the Great Mosque in Qatar.

According to activists, Ben Zion travels among Arab countries, with a passport of a European country, not his Israeli passport.

Ben Tzion had previously visited the Prophet’s mosque in Medina and historical landmarks in Egypt and Kuwait.
