Update: Army carries out 2 offensives against coalition militias in Taiz

TAIZ, Jan. 10 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces on Thursday carried out two offensives targeting sites of militias loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Taiz province, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The official said the army’s artillery bombed fortifications and hills of the coalition militias in Wadi Sala and al-Jahmaliya areas, which resulted in several dead and wounded in ranks of the militia and some others fled after violent clashes lasted for hours.

On another hand, he confirmed that the army forces carried out an offensive against military locations of the militias in Tubisha’h front, killing and injuring several militiamen, seizing weapons and controlling important sites in the area.

Earlier in the day, gunmen assassinated a recruit of the coalition called Naif Ali Ali Mosleh at 26 September Street, in central of Taiz city, and looted his motorcycle.
