Coalition forces continue to violate truce in Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Jan. 1 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition forces and militias on Tuesday continued to violate the ceasefire in Hodeidah province, a security official told Yemen Press Agency.

The official explained that the coalition-backed militias’ artillery intensified its indiscriminate shelling on residents of Hodeidah province and targeted houses and property of citizens in several areas and villages in the districts of the province amid intensive air cover of military and espionage aircrafts.

The coalition forces bombed various areas east of Hais district with more than 25 artillery shells and over 56 mortar shells, in addition to intensive combing with medium weapons on the city of Tahita and the surrounding areas.

Several shells targeted houses and property of citizens in al-Durihemi district, as well as attack with medium weapons on Al-Shabab city in the 90th Street.

The coalition’s warplanes and espionage planes continue to fly over the province, at a time the committee monitoring the ceasefire, headed by General Patrick Cammaert, began its meeting in the city of Hodeidah.
