Magnitude 6.2 earthquake shakes New Zealand

SANAA, Oct. 30 (YPA) – A powerful earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit New Zealand in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, the US Geological Survey said the earthquake hit the northern island of New Zealand.

There have been no reports of a tsunami warning, damage, death or injury from the earthquake, which centered 25km southwest of Taumarunui and depth of 207k.
