Yemen’s historic sites, cities’ situation discussed

SANAA, Aug. 29 (YPA) – Prime Minister Abdul Aziz Ben Habtour met Culture minister Abdullah al-Kibsi to discuss the situation of the historic cities, especially Shibam Hadrmout and Zabid.

The meeting discussed the challenges and irresponsible acts that deform the unique character of Zabid listed on the World Heritage heritage due to the US-backed Saudi-led attack on the western coast.

It dealt with the damages caused in these cities and other antique sites and the attacks on historic religious tombs in the provinces of Hadramout, Taiz, Lahj and Kamran Island by the radical terrorist elements.

The minister indicated currents efforts made in his ministry to publish a book documenting all damages that caused to these sites by the coalition force and al-Qaeda and Daesh elements, where the of the Saudi-led coalition force occupy these areas, adding that UNISCO and other human rights organizations will receive a copy of this book.

The PM stressed on the importance of developing the cultural institutions to inform the Yemeni people over the schemes of the coalition and to rise-up theirs national awareness on every arena.
