UNV program’s role in Yemen discussed

SANAA, Aug. 15 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday discussed with Country Director of the United Nations Development Program the role of the UN Volunteers (UNV) program in Yemen.

The meeting touched on aspects of the cooperation and coordination with the UNV program in enhancing the factors of qualifying and capacity-building, including youth and specialists.

In the meeting, Sharaf underlined the importance of expanding the program activities in various fields, especially in the sectors of health, water and education.

The minister confirmed the National Salvation Government’s support to the efforts of the UN offices and agencies, including the UNV program, to provide the best services to citizens, especially at the current difficult stage experienced by Yemen.
