Hamas: Incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque shows disregard for Muslims’ feelings

GAZA, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Hamas movement affirmed that Israeli occupation’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s incursion into the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by several Knesset election candidates and settlers, constituted a blatant electoral stunt at the expense of Islamic holy sites.

In press statements, the movement said Ben-Gvir’s incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards showed disregard for Muslims’ feelings and constituted an assault on the status and sanctity of the blessed mosque.

It warned of the dangers posed by continued violations against Islamic holy sites in occupied city of al-Quds.

The statements noted that the timing of these incursions, as the Israeli Knesset elections approach, highlights the seriousness of the threats facing Al-Aqsa Mosque amid attempts to turn it into an arena for political point-scoring and electoral competition.

It called on the Arab and Islamic nations, as well as religious and human rights institutions, to unite their efforts to keep the issue of Al-Aqsa Mosque at the forefront of attention, launch broad initiatives in its support, and work to protect both the mosque and the city of al-Quds from ongoing occupation violations.
