SANAA, Aug.11 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein al-Ezzi, on Saturday discussed with head of delegation of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in Sanaa, Johannes Bruwer, the latest developments in the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
The meeting focused the recent crime committed by the Saudi-led coalition warplanes by targeting a schoolchildren bus in Dhayhan district of Saada province, which left 51 dead and 77 wounded, mostly children.
Al-Ezzi said the crime is a war crime and a flagrant violation of the international humanitarian law and international human rights law, in particular the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
He noted that the international silence about the crimes committed in Yemen for the fourth consecutive year is what encouraged the coalition countries to commit such unprecedented crimes in history.
The meeting touched on the ongoing arrangements for the visit of the ICRC’s Country Director for the Middle East to Yemen.
