Sanaa forces target Saudi-backed military mobilizations, including unit involved in prisoner abuse

SANAA, Oct. 08 (YPA) – Brigadier General Yahya Sarie, military spokesperson for the Sanaa forces, announced on Wednesday evening that their military units targeted 11 gatherings of Saudi-backed military mobilizations over the past 24 hours.

In an official military statement, Brig. Gen. Sarie stated that the strikes were conducted using 11 ballistic missiles across southern Bab al-Mandab, Al-Suqya, Ras Al-Arah, and Al-Madharebah areas. He added that the operations resulted in dozens of casualties, including commanders, along with the destruction of several military vehicles.

“In the same context, our forces tracked and monitored a company belonging to the so-called 13th Amaliqa Brigade—which was involved in running over prisoners—and targeted its assembly with a ballistic missile,” Sarie said, noting that the precise strike resulted in more than 30 dead and wounded.

Earlier, Sarie announced the repelling of Saudi-backed forces attempting to advance toward positions held by Sanaa forces east of Jawf Governorate. According to the spokesperson, the military targeted troop concentrations in the area using ballistic missiles and drones, foiling the offensive and causing casualties and equipment losses.

Meanwhile, an official military source in Sanaa confirmed Wednesday afternoon the expulsion of Saudi-backed mobilizations from Al-Silw District in Taiz Governorate, with troops surrendering their weapons and positions to the Yemeni Armed Forces, according to the official “Saba” News Agency.
