Yemen loses West Asian Junior Championship final to Lebanon on penalties

SANAA, Oct. 06 (YPA) – The Lebanese U-17 national team won the West Asian Football Federation Championship title after defeating Yemen 4-3 on penalties in the final held Monday evening at the Aqaba Stadium in Jordan.

The match ended in a 0-0 draw after regular time, following a closely contested and cautious game. The two teams then went to penalties, which decided the title in favor of Lebanon.

The Yemeni national team reached the final after defeating the UAE 2-1 in the semi-final, while Lebanon qualified after overcoming Jordan 3-1 on penalties.
