Sanaa issues urgent warning to airlines, declares Saudi airspace unsafe except for Mecca, Medina

SANAA, Oct. 05 (YPA) – The Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center (HOCC) in Sanaa issued an urgent warning on Monday to all civil aviation companies, declaring Saudi Arabian airspace unsafe, with the exception of Mecca and Medina, which it stated remain permanently safe from Yemeni Armed Forces operations.

In a statement to the official “Saba” news agency, the center declared that Saudi airspace would become a scene of operations for its armed forces, adding that the Republic of Yemen disclaims responsibility following this announcement. The center noted that the warning comes in response to ongoing Saudi airstrikes against Yemen.

“Out of our commitment to the safety and security of civil aviation and human life, we warn all airlines operating in Saudi airspace that it is unsafe,” the center added.
