SANAA, Oct. 04 (YPA) – Sanaa Supreme Political Council President Mahdi Al-Mashat declared on Sunday that the presidential amnesty for fighters who were recruited into Saudi-backed military buildups remains in effect.
In a statement to the official Saba news agency, Al-Mashat said he had instructed the acting governor of Taiz to activate the presidential amnesty mechanism, as was done in the districts of Yemen’s western coast.
He stressed that the armed forces are committed to providing safe passage to anyone who does not obstruct their operations against Saudi military buildups.
Al-Mashat further noted that under the presidential amnesty, the armed forces guarantee the safety of those deceived or affiliated with Saudi Arabia who have stopped fighting and returned to their homes.
“The armed forces thank the wise and cooperative people who are working to spare Taiz city the plots of the Saudi enemy,” he concluded, praising Taiz residents’ awareness of Saudi schemes targeting the Yemeni people and their disregard for the voices of agents speaking from hotels in Riyadh.
