Ankara proposes urgent initiative to ease tensions between Sanaa, Riyadh following air attack on Saudi capital

ANKARA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – Turkey revealed on Sunday diplomatic moves and an official initiative submitted to the concerned parties for an immediate military de-escalation between Sanaa and the Saudi regime.

This comes after the failure of the Saudi regime and its allies to contain Sanaa forces’ operational pressures aimed at lifting the comprehensive blockade imposed on Yemen for more than a decade.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed that his country presented proposals centered on an immediate cessation of hostilities, attributing the step to the economic fallout of the regional crisis reaching unbearable levels.

These efforts come amid escalating field developments, most recently marked by Sanaa forces launching a large-scale air attack targeting the heart of the capital, Riyadh. According to statements, the attack was in response to Saudi escalation and the targeting of civilians, reinforcing an operational dynamic established by ongoing land and naval operations conducted since July 20 to break the blockade.
