Sanaa forces declare two operations targeting sensitive sites in Riyadh, Yanbu
SANAA, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Yemen’s Sanaa-based armed forces declared on Saturday details of the large-scale military operations against vital and sensitive targets deep inside Saudi Arabia and in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
In a military statement read by the armed forces’ spokesman, Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, the forces said they had carried out two qualitative military operations targeting sensitive sites in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and Saudi Aramco facilities in Yanbu, using a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones.
The statement affirmed that the first operation targeted sensitive sites in the Saudi capital, while the second targeted Saudi Aramco in Yanbu.
It said both operations were successful and resulted in large fires breaking out at the targeted locations.
The statement said the two operations came in response to the grave false accusation that Yemen, the land of faith and wisdom, had targeted Makkah. It added that the operations were also in response to continued Saudi military attacks on Yemen using F-15 and Typhoon warplanes operating from Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases.
According to the statement, the Saudi air attacks have so far reached 732, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries and damage to civilian infrastructure.
It noted that the two operations also came in response to what it described as Saudi attempts to target the capital, Sanaa, using ISIS-style methods, including attempted bombings targeting civilians indiscriminately.
The spokesman’s statement stressed that claims promoted by Saudi enemy media that Yemen’s armed forces target civilians are baseless, saying that any civilian casualties resulted from failed interceptions by Saudi air defenses.
The statement also reaffirmed that the armed forces would continue enforcing the blockade-for-blockade and escalation-for-escalation equation and targeting Saudi military buildups, until the aggression is halted and the blockade on Yemen is lifted.
