Saudi airstrikes target central prison in Yemen’s Jawf amid casualty reports

JAWF, Sept. 07 (YPA) – Saudi forces carried out airstrikes on a correctional facility in northern Yemen on Monday evening, local security sources said, triggering reports of casualties among inmates.

According to a local security source in Jawf province, the strikes hit the Central Corrective Facility in the Al-Hazm district. Initial reports indicate that several detainees were killed or injured in the attack.

Earlier in the day, Saudi artillery shelling was reported in the Al-Sheikh area of the border district of Monabbih in Saada province.

The developments followed two waves of aerial bombardment and cruise missile strikes conducted by Saudi forces earlier on Monday across several Yemeni provinces, including Jawf, Bayda, Marib, and Taiz.
