“Freedom Flotilla” plans October sail to Gaza to challenge Israeli blockade

WORLD, Sept. 02 (YPA) – Organizers of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition announced Wednesday their plan to sail to the Gaza Strip in October 2026.

According to the organizers, the mission will include stops in Spain, Portugal, and Italy before proceeding toward Gaza to challenge what they termed Israel’s “illegal and deadly blockade.”

The initiative follows preliminary voyages across Europe. In June and July, the coalition’s vessel ‘Handala 2’ visited ports in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. This month, the vessel ‘Kate’ departed from Bristol, UK, making stops in Ireland, Germany, and France.

At each port, organizers intend to join local communities to pressure governments to take action against “Israel”, including halting arms and energy shipments, ending diplomatic and military cooperation, and imposing sanctions.

“The Freedom Flotilla sets sail once again because our governments continue to fail in their duties,” said Zohar Chamberlain-Regev, a member of the coalition’s steering committee. “In every port, we will carry the demand for Palestinians’ right to live in dignity.”
