Aden residents forced to pray in streets amid sever domestic crisis

ADEN, Aug. 22 (YPA) – Residents in occupied city of Aden were forced to perform Friday prayers on the street alongside queues of empty gas cylinders, as a severe domestic gas shortage enters its third month.

Local sources familiar with the situation said residents were forced to perform Friday prayers in the street alongside gas cylinders after spending hours in long queues outside filling stations in Aden in search of cooking gas, underscoring the severity of a crisis deeply impacting daily life.

The crisis comes after a decision by the Islah-controlled Safer Gas Company to cut daily domestic gas production by 6,000 barrels, equivalent to roughly 20 transport tankers.

The company has provided no official explanation for the reduction or announced alternative measures to offset the resulting supply shortage affecting Aden and other southern provinces.
