Palestinian girl wounded as Israeli occupation forces continue Gaza ceasefire violations

GAZA, Aug. 15 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces reportedly continued to violate the Gaza ceasefire on Saturday, shooting and wounding a Palestinian girl in the Asqoula area of Gaza City. Israeli artillery also shelled areas in the eastern Gaza Strip.

Palestinian sources said Israeli artillery shelled areas north of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and targeted areas east of the Zeitoun neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.

In northern Gaza, Israeli military vehicles reportedly opened fire toward the eastern areas of Jabalia. Moreover, Israeli occupation forces also opened fire toward eastern Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.

Other sources said the occupation forces had carried out six demolitions of buildings in northern Rafah, in southern Gaza, as of Saturday.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, more than 1,250 Palestinians have reportedly been killed and thousands wounded. The occupation forces have also reportedly destroyed hundreds of homes, infrastructure and other structures across the Gaza Strip.
