SHABWA, Feb. 14 (YPA) – An oil pipeline in Yemen’s province of Shabwa was bombed late on Tuesday, a Yemen Press Agency correspondent reported.
The pipeline, which links Janat Osailan oil filed in the southern province of Shabwa to the Oil Refinery in the central province of Marib, was bombed after a dispute between Saudi-backed Islah party, which runs much of Marib, and the United Arab Emirates occupation forces, which control much of the country’s south.
Local officials blamed Shabwa’s Balharith tribe for the bombing attack, saying it was a revenge attack over a dispute about a rivalry on controlling the oil revenues.
The rival local forces traded accusations on each other.
Security situations have been deteriorating in the South since the Saudi-led coalition forces intervened in the Yemeni conflict three years ago.
