Ansarullah official accuses Saudi Arabia of turning Mocha Port into military staging hub

SANAA, Aug. 10 (YPA) – Mohammad Al-Farah, member of the Ansarullah Political Bureau, accused Saudi Arabia on Monday of turning Yemen’s western coastal port of Mocha into a military staging hub, warning that the reported troop buildup aims to launch new military operations against Yemen and worsen the country’s economic situation.

In a statement released on his X account, Al-Farah said the military activity in Mocha was part of a broader Saudi effort to restore political influence over Yemen and implement US and regional agendas.

He said the Saudi military buildup was aimed at pressuring the Yemeni people into accepting foreign occupation, asserting that Yemenis would not abandon their opposition to external intervention or accept political and military choices imposed by force.

Al-Farah further accused Saudi Arabia of seeking to subdue Yemenis through military force alongside economic and political pressure, describing developments on the western coast as part of an attempt to restore a system of external control previously rejected in recent years.

He also linked the reported Saudi moves to a long history of intervention in Yemen, accusing Riyadh of contributing to infrastructure destruction, worsening economic and humanitarian conditions, resource exploitation, and the disruption of public services.

He emphasized that continued military buildups would not force Yemenis to alter their stance, adding that they remain committed to preserving independent decision-making and rejecting external control.
