Marib governor affirms preemptive operation foiled Saudi offensive plan

MARIB, Aug. 07 (YPA) – Marib governor Ali Tuaiman, appointed by the Sanaa authorities, said a preemptive operation carried out by Sanaa’s armed forces disrupted a large-scale Saudi plan to target areas under Sanaa’s control and hindered military mobilization at several camps.

He said intelligence agencies had monitored troop movements and reinforcements at the Al-Ruwaik, Al-Abr, and Al-Thaniyah camps, which were being prepared to deploy Saudi-backed fighters to frontlines in Marib and Jawf.

Tuaiman said the operation achieved its objectives, resulting in hundreds of casualties among the targeted forces, including Saudi officers, and destroyed weapons depots.

He urged fighters aligned with Saudi-backed forces to return to the homeland and avoid participating in battles serving Saudi interests.

He also claimed that Marib’s tribes support Sanaa’s armed forces in the struggle to restore Yemen’s sovereignty and end foreign military presence.
