Official in Sanaa reveals nature of the ongoing talks with Saudi Arabia

SANAA, Aug. 05 (YPA) – Hizam al-Assad, a member of the Yemeni Shura Council and the Ansarallah political bureau, stated on Wednesday that ongoing talks with Saudi Arabia have moved beyond political tracks and are now being conducted on the ground through military channels.

On his account on X platform, Al-Assad clarified that current dialogues are being translated through naval forces in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden under the “blockade-for-blockade” equation, alongside other tracks pursued by the armed forces under the “escalation-for-escalation” framework.

He added that field options have become the most effective language in dealing with Riyadh, noting that 12 years of war, blockade, and subsequent rounds of talks marked by failure to implement agreements have demonstrated the futility of non-military tracks.
