US approves sale of ammunition and military equipment to Norway

WASHINGTON, Aug. 06 (YPA) – The US State Department has approved Norway’s request to purchase 155mm M795 high-explosive artillery shells, along with a package of technical and logistical support associated with the deal.

In a statement, the department explained that the estimated total value of the deal is approximately $270 million.

The statement indicated that the deal aims to enhance Norway’s capabilities as a NATO ally, which Washington considers an important partner in supporting political stability and economic growth in Europe.

The US State Department confirmed that the approval of the sale is in line with US foreign policy and national security objectives by supporting Norway’s security and strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries.
