Pro-Maduro demonstrators burn US, Israeli flags during protest in Caracas

CARACAS, July 25 (YPA) – Massive demonstrations in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, took part in a protest organized by supporters of former President Nicolás Maduro, during which they burned the U.S. and Israeli flags in protest against the U.S. interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs.

In protests, the protesters gathered in Simón Bolívar Square, where they condemned the U.S. attempts to detain Maduro and denounced Washington’s influence in Venezuela.

They also threw photographs of U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli occupation’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu onto the ground and trampled on them.

Chanting slogans such as Americans, go back to your country and “This is not aid, it is occupation,” the demonstrators criticized assistance provided by the United States and Israel to Venezuela following the devastating earthquake that struck the country on June 24.

In a separate development, the foreign ministries of Venezuela and Peru announced that they had reached an agreement to restore diplomatic relations, which were severed in 2024. Both sides said the normalization process would begin gradually, with the aim of fully reestablishing bilateral ties.

Meanwhile, interim President Delcy Rodríguez, speaking during a military ceremony, said Venezuela should continue to develop its international relations under the principles of Bolivarian diplomacy for peace.

The announcement comes just days before Peru’s president-elect, Keiko Fujimori, is scheduled to assume office on July 28.
