“Israel Hayom”: “Peace Council” will soon begin managing humanitarian shelters in Gaza

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 01 (YPA) – The Hebrew newspaper “Israel Hayom” reported that the “Peace Council” will launch within weeks a pilot project to manage humanitarian shelters in areas of the Gaza Strip not controlled by Hamas.

The newspaper added on Tuesday that the Tel al-Sultan area near Rafah will be the first destination for transferring unarmed civilians not affiliated with Hamas, noting that a multinational stabilization force led by the council will be deployed at a base near the Strip with non-firearm weapons to maintain order.

It stated that the Israeli army will continue to control the areas “beyond the yellow line,” while medical and food aid will be sent to the centers with the aim of gradually undermining Hamas’s grip.

According to the newspaper, the “Peace Council” will identify locations in the Gaza envelope to establish logistical centers, in addition to a camp designated to receive international forces before their deployment in the Strip.

It considered these steps an implementation of Article 17 of the “Trump Plan” for temporary reconstruction in Hamas-free areas, through mobile housing units and medical services, without the use of concrete.

It is worth noting that the White House announced on January 16 the transitional Gaza administration structures, and the first meeting of the Peace Council, chaired by Trump, was held in Washington on February 19.
