Arhab tribes rally in Sanaa, condemn attempts to incite tribal discord

SANAA, June 29 (YPA) – Tribes and sheikhs in Arhab district of Sanaa province held a large armed tribal gathering on Monday, during which they announced a tribal mobilization in response to what they described as attempts to sow division and discord surrounding the case of Sumaya Ahmed Al-Zubairi.

In a massive rally, the tribe sent a strong message to “Hamad bin Fadgham,” announcing a tribal mobilization in a massive armed gathering in response to the incitements and attempts to stir up sedition and divide the ranks led by the so-called Fadgham, who was described as a tool of the Saudi regime, and behind him the mouthpieces of the coalition in the case of the tribe’s daughter, Sumaya Ahmed Al-Zubairi.

Speakers stressed tribal unity and firmly rejected attempts to politicize the issue or inflame tensions between tribes.

They reiterated that Arhab remains committed to its traditional customs and urged other tribes not to be drawn into disputes or escalatory narratives related to the matter.

During the rally, tribal leaders also highlighted the long-standing social ties among Yemeni tribes and underscored the importance of resolving disputes through customary tribal arbitration and established social norms.

Family representatives stated that the issue had already been resolved through tribal mediation, affirming that it remains within the framework of tribal adjudication and the authority of elders.

The rally’s statement rejected claims that the woman was being held by any party and criticized efforts to exploit the case for political or tribal gain. It called for strict adherence to tribal customs and warned against any actions that could aggravate tensions or deepen divisions.

The statement concluded by reaffirming commitment to resolving disputes through tribal mechanisms and preserving social cohesion among the tribes of Yemen.

The rally, attended by tribal leaders, local figures, and members of the girl’s family—including her father, brother, son, and husband—was described by participants as an attempt to address and clarify rumors and allegations surrounding the case.
