MARIB/ JAWF, June 27 (YPA) – Tribal groups from Marib and Jawf provinces withdrew on Saturday from positions linked to Saudi-funded Hamad bin Fadgham in the Al-Rayyan area near the Jawf border, amid growing doubts over his objectives and activities.
According to media reports citing tribal sources, the withdrawals took place from a site established by bin Fadgham in the area, with sources attributing the move to increasing concerns among tribal members regarding his intentions.
Some local media outlets described his activities as controversial, adding that his movements were driven by local disputes and personal motives, while others said they could be linked to broader political or military agendas in the region.
The reports came shortly after bin Fadgham appealed to the Saudi-backed Aden government for support.
Observers said the developments may reflect shifting political and tribal dynamics surrounding his role and influence in the area.
The counter-campaign suggested that Saudi Arabia has lost confidence in Fadgham, who previously served as a leader of a Saudi-backed faction in Jawf before relocating to Sanaa.
