CAIRO, Juen 25 (YPA) – Egyptian media outlets, citing diplomatic sources, reported on Thursday that Cairo is engaged in intensive efforts to advance the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
According to the sources, Egypt is working to facilitate the transitional phase in Gaza by enabling the National Committee for the Administration of the Strip to assume its responsibilities on the ground, while simultaneously seeking to separate the delivery of humanitarian assistance from the political negotiations.
The sources added that Palestinian factions have demonstrated considerable flexibility regarding the implementation of the agreement’s second phase, while accusing Israeli occupation of obstructing progress by introducing additional conditions that they described as unacceptable and difficult to fulfill.
