GAZA, June 25 (YPA) – The Gaza-based Government Media Office has warned of a worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the office cited continued restrictions on the entry of essential supplies and the ongoing disruption of infrastructure and basic services, revealing over 2.4 million Palestinians are facing growing health, environmental, and humanitarian challenges.
The statement said the crises affecting water, sanitation, and shelter are deteriorating rapidly, compounded by extensive damage to infrastructure and restrictions on the entry of materials and equipment needed for repairs and reconstruction, warning that these conditions could lead to a large-scale public health and environmental crisis.
It added that more than one million displaced people are currently living in camps that lack basic services, amid worsening shelter conditions and the spread of insects and rodents.
The office’s statement called on the international community and relevant organizations to take urgent action to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance, restore essential services and infrastructure, and prevent further deterioration of humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
