Sanaa Government warns of Israeli schemes in “Somaliland”

SANAA, June 24 (YPA) – The Sanaa government issued a stern warning on Wednesday regarding accelerating Israeli schemes in “Somaliland.”

Sanaa accused “Abdul Rahman Iro” of treason and working to transform strategic areas like Hargeisa and Berbera into influence platforms and a theater of operations serving the interests of the Israeli occupation entity at the expense of Somalia’s sovereignty and its people’s security.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, confirmed in a statement to the official “Saba” news agency in Sanaa that this dangerous project threatens the national security of the entire region and could drag it into a catastrophic conflict.

Abu Ras emphasized that the security of Yemen and the region is a red line, asserting that Yemen possesses the will and capacity to protect its strategic security. He called on all Somali parties and regional countries to remain vigilant and not be deceived by false promises in order to confront this expansionist project.

This follows a similar warning conveyed by Sanaa to the United Nations last Monday through the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Ali Hamoud Al-Moshaki.

During a meeting with the military advisor to the UN Envoy to Yemen, Al-Moshaki stressed that the Israeli presence in “Somaliland” constitutes a direct threat to regional security and an act of military aggression directed against Yemen, which could ignite the situation and negatively impact maritime security in the Red and Arabian Seas.
