China calls on Washington and Tehran to abide by Memorandum of Understanding and maintain regional stability

BEIJING, June 24 (YPA) – Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun on Wednesday called on Washington and Tehran to safeguard and implement the memorandum of understanding signed between them.

Guo said in a press conference that the United States and Iran pledged under the memorandum to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity, refrain from military operations, and avoid interfering in internal affairs, according to Xinhua.

He added that the memorandum sent a positive signal to the world, and the two countries should work together to implement and safeguard it.

He expressed China’s willingness to provide assistance in its own way and play a constructive role in restoring peace and tranquility in the region.
