LONDON, June 23 (YPA) – Amid rising political debate inside the United Kingdom over the government’s stance on the Israeli aggression on Gaza, scrutiny of London’s involvement in supporting Israeli military operations has returned to the forefront of public discussion.
The stance came following controversial statements made by British MP Jeremy Corbyn, who called for an independent inquiry into the UK’s role in the ongoing events.
Corbyn said that the departure of Prime Minister Keir Starmer should not end scrutiny of the government’s support for what is happening in Gaza, stressing that he has reintroduced a bill calling for an independent investigation into Britain’s alleged complicity.
In a post on the platform X, he added that “we will never forget the role played by his government in the greatest crime of our time,” reiterating his call for a comprehensive inquiry into UK government policy related to the issue.
