Smotrich calls for full military control over Gaza and re-establishment of settlements there

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, June 22 (YPA) – The occupation’s Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, renewed his call for imposing full military and political control over the Gaza Strip, establishing a military administration to manage it, and reactivating settlement projects there.

The Hebrew website “Hadashot 360” quoted him as saying that extending full control over Gaza is a necessity of the current stage, and he considered the military administration the best option for reshaping the reality, demanding that the door be opened for the settlers to return to the Strip.

Smotrich’s statements come amid escalating calls from the extreme right to occupy Gaza completely, despite warnings of exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and hindering de-escalation, and the opposition of these trends to international law and their widespread international rejection.
