Iranian delegation heads to Switzerland for talks with US

TEHRAN, June 20 (YPA) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, departed for Switzerland on Saturday leading an Iranian delegation to hold talks with the United States, aimed at following up on the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, the delegation includes senior officials from key economic and security institutions, among them Ali Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council for International Affairs; Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati; Deputy Oil Minister and National Iranian Oil Company head Hamid Pourda; Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi; and Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, among others.

Baghaei, speaking on behalf of the delegation, said the purpose of the visit is to monitor and assess the implementation of commitments made under the agreement.

He added that a history of non-compliance by the other side, Iran intends to press for full adherence to the agreed terms.
