Al-Jaadi warns of “bitter repercussions” following recent Saudi measures against STC

RIYADH, June 19 (YPA) – A prominent leader of the “dissolved” Southern Transitional Council (STC), Fadhl al-Jaadi, warned of “bitter repercussions” regarding recent measures taken against the council, describing the decision to freeze funds and attempts to impose sanctions on STC President “Aidarous al-Zubaidi” as “illegal and dishonest.”

Al-Jaadi—in a post on the “X” platform from Riyadh—accused Saudi Arabia of using the judiciary in Aden as “a tool to settle political scores rather than achieve justice.”

He considered these steps an attempt to deflect attention from the “economic and service failure” of the Saudi-backed government, representing a “provocation to the STC’s popular base.”

These statements follow a request by the Saudi-backed government’s UN envoy—prompted by Saudi Arabia—asking the Security Council to include the name of “Al-Zubaidi,” leader of the UAE-backed “dissolved” STC, and his aides on the sanctions list.

This was followed by a decree from the so-called “Attorney General” in Aden ordering a precautionary freeze on the funds and assets of the Transitional Council across all banks and banking companies.
