GAZA, June 09 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation navy arrested nine Palestinian fishermen on Tuesday while they were working off the coast of Gaza City and Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
According to the Fishermen’s Committees, the occupation navy arrested the nine fishermen while they were fishing at sea.
The committees reported that the fishermen are: Raed Muhammad Abu Riyala, Ayman Bahjat Abu Awda, Muhammad Jihad al-Sufi, Mahmoud Ismail Jahjouh, Zuhair Ahmad al-Qur’an, Juma’a Mazen al-Qur’an, Dia’ Mazen al-Qur’an, Ramadan Sha’ban Abu Omar, and Nimr Mazen al-Qur’an.
The Israeli navy has escalated its aggression against Palestinian fishermen, further restricting their livelihoods. Two days ago, it killed the young fisherman Muhammad Abu Jayyab while he was trying to earn a living.
