Protests held in Hungary to call for boycott of Israel during World Cup qualifiers

BUDAPEST, June 07 (YPA) – The “Palestine Solidarity Campaign Scotland” protested in conjunction with Scotland’s women’s national team’s 6-0 victory over Israel in the World Cup qualifiers, in a match held behind closed doors at the Puskás Aréna.

The match was moved from Scotland to Hungary after a series of protests that accompanied previous encounters between the two sides, including a 30-minute delay to the start of the Hampden Park match when a protester chained himself to the goal, in addition to protests outside the stadium

The “Show the Israeli Red Card” group accused FIFA and the Scottish FA of silence and double standards in dealing with political issues in sports, considering the relocation of the match evidence of the growing popular boycott.
