Iran threatens Israeli occupation with “painful response” tonight following Beirut suburb strike

TEHRAN, June 07 (YPA) – Iran threatened on Sunday the Israeli occupation with a painful response tonight, in Tehran’s first comment on the occupation’s targeting of the Lebanese Beirut suburb.

In this regard, the spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council, Ebrahim Rezaei, confirmed that his country will respond “firmly and painfully” to the attack that targeted the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Rezaei added in a post on his account on the “X” platform, “This savage Zionist entity must be disciplined and returned to its natural size.”

He concluded his post by saying, “Watch the skies of the occupied territories tonight.”

Earlier on Sunday, planes of the Israeli enemy launched an airstrike targeting the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, resulting in the martyrdom of two people and the injury of 11 others in an initial toll, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

This raid comes within the framework of the continuous Zionist violations of the ceasefire understandings.

It is worth noting that since March 2nd, the Israeli enemy has escalated its criminal aggression on Lebanon, targeting Lebanese towns, villages, cities, and civilian objects, including medical and journalistic teams, resulting in thousands of martyrs and wounded, and the displacement of about one and a half million Lebanese citizens.

A temporary ceasefire agreement entered into force in mid-April, but the Israeli enemy army commits daily violations of the agreement.
