TEHRAN, June 02 (YPA) – Spokesman of the national security and foreign policy committee of the Iranian Shura Council, Ebrahim Rezaei, said on Tuesday that Lebanon must be included in any final ceasefire agreement, stressing that the issue is an essential and inseparable part of any future settlement.
Rezaei made the remarks following a meeting between the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, during which he said the Foreign Ministry is closely monitoring efforts to secure a ceasefire in Lebanon and end the Israeli aggression, describing the issue as a central component of any future political settlement.
Rezaei stated that committee members emphasized Iran’s continued support for the Lebanese people and for Hezbollah, highlighting the group’s role during recent regional developments.
The committee also called for a firm response to ongoing Israeli attacks in Lebanon and stressed the importance of strengthening regional cooperation among resistance movements.
Separately, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf discussed efforts to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire in Lebanon during a phone call with Nabih Berri.
According to Iranian statements, Ghalibaf said that any agreement reached to end hostilities between Iran and the United States should include a halt to attacks on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon.
For his part, Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, criticized recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Lebanon, arguing that they reflected Washington’s involvement in regional military developments rather than a commitment to peace efforts.
