Iran launches missiles from south of country towards targets in Gulf

TEHRAN, May 29 (YPA) – Iran’s Fars News Agency reported on Thursday evening that the Iranian Armed Forces have launched missiles from the country’s southern regions toward designated targets.

According to the agency, “Iranian Armed Forces in Bandar Abbas executed a missile launch from southern regions toward specific targets.” While the precise destination of the missiles remains unknown, some sources suggest a potential clash over the waters of the Persian Gulf. Fars added that further details would be released at a later time.

The report also noted that earlier at dawn, following an “enemy assault” on eastern areas of Bandar Abbas, Iranian forces retaliated by targeting the base from which the initial attack was launched.

This escalation follows a 40-day military offensive against Iran, launched on February 28 by the United States and the Zionist entity. The offensive resulted in thousands of civilian casualties and targeted schools, hospitals, mosques, and vital infrastructure across the country.

In response to that aggression, Iran launched operation “True Promise 4,” targeting the Zionist entity and U.S. military bases in the region.
