UNRWA: Palestinian refugee issue persists across generations, its services have extended for eight decades

GAZA, May 17 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported on Sunday that Palestinian refugee Amina experienced displacement for the first time as a child during the Nakba, noting that she is one of nearly two million people forced to leave their homes and shelters as a result of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on the X platform, UNRWA confirmed that the Palestinian refugee issue has persisted across generations for decades, explaining that it has been an essential part of refugees’ lives for nearly eight decades through its diverse services, including education, healthcare, sanitation services, and humanitarian assistance when needed.

It added that its role is not limited to direct relief, but extends to the economic empowerment of refugees through microfinance programs, in addition to providing vocational training opportunities, which contributes to enhancing livelihoods and improving the living conditions of Palestinian refugees.
