ADEN, May 16 (YPA) – Marine pollution has covered a large area in the anchorage outside the port of Aden, a city controlled by Saudi-backed forces in southern Yemen.
Maritime sources in the city reported in recent hours that a foreign vessel, believed to be named “Tin Neptune,” discharged a large quantity of oil into the water, indicating that the incident has serious environmental repercussions for the area.
The sources confirmed that operational monitoring from the port’s control tower documented the oil discharge in the marine area, resulting in significant pollution in the anchorage, which is one of the most important waiting areas for ships before they enter the port.
