STOCKHOLM, May 16 (YPA) – The Swedish capital, Stockholm, witnessed a massive march, on Saturday, commemorating the 78th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, with the participation of thousands of demonstrators in Odenplan Square, at the invitation of civil society organizations.
Participants raised Palestinian flags and banners demanding an end to the “genocide” being committed by Israel in Gaza and an immediate halt to war crimes.
The anniversary coincides with the displacement of 957,000 Palestinians out of 1.4 million who lived in 1,300 villages and towns in 1948, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.
The Bureau reported that the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza in October 2023 until the end of April 2026 reached 73,761, including 72,601 in Gaza and 1,160 in the West Bank.
