OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 09 (YPA) – The echoes of the scandal involving Iran’s infiltration of the heart of the Israeli occupation air force and the recruitment of soldiers for “financial crumbs” continue to dominate Hebrew media discussions, shaking both the military and political establishments within the Israeli occupation entity.
In a development described by Israeli media as a “grave security breach,” a resounding espionage scandal erupted following revelations that Iranian intelligence successfully infiltrated the Israeli military establishment. They recruited active-duty soldiers within the air force to leak sensitive information and coordinates in exchange for sums of money described as “paltry.”
According to disclosures by Israeli media outlets, this case—which currently tops the political and security agenda—represents a worrying shift in Iranian recruitment methods. According to the Israeli channel “i24 News,” Tehran is no longer targeting civilians alone but has succeeded in attracting soldiers serving inside sensitive military bases.
For his part, Doron Kadosh, the military affairs correspondent for “Army” Radio (Galeit Zahal), described the incident as “extremely disturbing,” asserting that Tehran is now succeeding in operating assets from within the army itself, marking a painful blow to the Israeli security apparatus.
Details of the Infiltration
Investigation details reveal that the suspects are soldiers from the Air Force “Technical School.” They photographed military sites within the base itself and documented strategic locations in “Tel Aviv” and “Haifa”—sites previously targeted by Iranian missiles during the recent confrontation.
The most dangerous aspect of the case, according to Hebrew media, is that one of the soldiers personally offered to provide the Iranians with precise coordinates for F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft in exchange for 15,000 shekels. However, the Iranian response was shocking: “Forget the F-16s… we want the Iron Dome locations,” with a promise to pay 5,000 shekels for every site uncovered.
“Cheap Betrayal” via Telegram
Investigations also showed that communication and recruitment operations were managed via the “Telegram” app. The Israeli security establishment described the phenomenon as “sad,” after it became clear that some Israelis, including soldiers, took the initiative to search for communication channels with Iranian entities in greed for “easy money.”
Most shocking, according to the military correspondent, is that some of those involved sold sensitive military secrets for meager sums; one received only $5,500, while others were paid between $800 and $1,000. Observers have described the scene as a “low-price betrayal with a high-cost consequence.”
Israeli security agencies estimate that these soldiers believed they would not be caught. However, the scandal has opened a deep wound within the military institution, raising serious questions about the fragility of the internal front and Iran’s ability to penetrate the most sensitive Israeli sites.
