UN Rapporteur accuses Israeli occupation of escalating targeting of Palestine Christians

GAZA, May 09 (YPA) – Former UN Rapporteur Michael Lynk accused Israeli occupation’s authorities of escalating attacks against Palestinian Christians, describing the campaign as part of a broader effort to erase the Palestinian presence in all its religious and national components.

In remarks on Saturday, Lynk said the occupation and extremist settlers are pursuing systematic policies aimed at forcing Palestinian Christians into gradual displacement through repeated attacks on churches, clergy, villages, and holy sites, amid a near absence of international accountability.

He warned that growing restrictions on religious freedoms in occupied city of Al Quds reflect broader attempts to reshape the city’s demographic and cultural identity, noting that Palestinian Christians are increasingly being driven toward forced migration despite representing one of the world’s oldest Christian communities.

Lynk also slammed the weak international response to violations against Palestinian Christians and Muslims, calling for urgent action to halt attacks on holy sites and hold Israel accountable under international law.
