TEHRAN, May 04 (YPA) – An Iranian official warned on Monday that Tehran would consider any US attempt to intervene in the Strait of Hormuz a violation of the ceasefire.
Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Commission, said in a post on X that “Any US interference in the emerging maritime framework of the Strait of Hormuz would constitute a violation of the ceasefire.”
Tehran’s response came in the early hours of Monday following a post by US President Donald Trump, who announced the launch of an operation to “free ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz,” while also issuing a warning message to the Iranian government.
Trump said in a post on Truth Social that the operation would begin Monday morning Middle East time.
