Trump: US to being operation to help ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz

WASHINGTON, May 04 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump said that the United States would begin efforts this morning to free ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, as part of a “humanitarian gesture” aimed at helping neutral countries in the conflict waged by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Trump provided few details about the plan, which he said would help the ships and their crews still “detained” in the strait, suffering from shortages of food and other supplies, as Iran continues to block this vital waterway.

“We have informed these countries that we will guide their ships safely out of these restricted waterways so they can continue their business freely and efficiently,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
